Nótt is a new type of online publication that aims to challenge normative views on world events and to share ideas in order to enrich our understanding of the world.
We publish articles written by spirited and meticulous writers on a wide range of topics covering politics, society, environment, as well as culture.
Our articles are informative and fact-based, but not only: they are in turn elating, enraging, moving, but always passionate.
Our writers have PhDs, high-school diplomas, two or three Master’s degrees, or have simply learnt a lot from living a life rich in experiences and discussions. They come from a variety of backgrounds, but all share a dedication to enlightened journalism.
Our common goal is to bring you new perspectives, while always remaining open to your thoughts and feedback.
The founders of Nótt, Marie and Marion, met when they were young and brimming with idealism. They are not so young anymore, and have known many a disillusion. But guess what? Years later, they are still ready to contribute to making the world a better place!
So join us in our quest and enjoy the Nótt experience!
Are you wondering why the magazine is called Nótt?
Nótt is the personification of the night in Norse mythology; a powerful female figure, Nótt was Thor’s grandmother and is most often depicted with her dark horse Hrímfaxi (meaning ‘frost mare’).
Every atom originates from the ‘night’ when Time and Space had not yet begun, and every human being first came to life through the darkness of the womb.
From night and darkness we discern day and light, and when we emerge out of the night, our daily issues often appear in a clearer way.
Nótt Magazine therefore pays tribute to the dark skies, to the inspiration that thrives under the moonlight, and to the night that reminds us that each of us is equally unimportant yet valuable in the vastness of the universe.
